About Thea Gouverneur
Thea Gouverneur started counted cross stitch design in 1959 from her hometown Sassenheim in the Netherlands. She is now one of the leading cross stitch designers and her designs kits are sold worldwide.
Growing up Thea was always surrounded by bulb fields and flowers and these flowers became a great inspiration for her designs.
"People sometimes ask me where I get the inspiration for my designs, a question which never fails to surprise me. I always answer: look out of your window and you will see inspiration everywhere - in gardens, in hedgerows, in fields, woods and hills. There are so many beautiful flowers, plants, bushes and trees growing, that there is not enough time to stitch them all".
