Before we sold our first Medley, we donated 50 of them to a local homeless shelter and clinic in Los Angeles. Giving back is ingrained in our company culture and we have been recognized by Senators and Assembly members for our KSM Gives Back program efforts. To date, our customers have helped us proudly donate thousands of Medleys to local nonprofits and causes who fight to end homelessness, spread breast cancer awareness, support women empowerment, and youth leadership and development. Our goal is to reach a million donations!
Kyra’s Shea Medleys (KSM) was founded in 2013 by Kyra Nicole Young and her fiance, John Moore, both first-generation business owners from South Central Los Angeles. Kyra started producing her shea butter Medleys during her college years at UCLA (the surrounding neighborhood lacked ethnic-friendly products). With a goal to provide simple, yet effective natural beauty care, KSM was born out of a need for healthy products in underrepresented communities like ours. Creating a multipurpose line that could literally be used from hair to toe is a bonus.
Every Medley is thoughtfully crafted and with every purchase, we are able to give back to someone in need here in the USA. Our milestone goal is to donate one million Medleys within the next 3 years. Please note that giving back does not affect the quality of our products. We only use premium ingredients packed with benefits that make you look amazing, feel amazing, and smell amazing. Period.
