Organic Cassia Powder for Hair - Cassia, a natural hair conditioner - Ancient Sunrise

Cassia cannot lighten hair. However, it can brighten and condition hair. Add henna to create beautiful colors.

Ancient Sunrise Kits that include Clarity Cassia have an added benefit. They also act as a conditioning treatment!

Ancient Sunrise Organic Cassia over 100% Gray Hair.

Blonde shades can be obtained by adding 7% indigo and 3% henna to your mix with your favorite Ancient Sunrise fruit acid. For a cooler blonde shade, use distilled water and no fruit acid with your henna and cassia mix to dye release (let it sit for 8 to 12 hours at room temperature) before mixing and adding indigo. Always use Ancient Sunrise Rainwash before application to clarify your hair.

Our organic cassia used as a conditioning treatment will add shine and strength to hair, as well as lift and define any curls. You can create beautiful beachy waves that will hold their shape. Cassia can also be used with henna and indigo for color, even blonde. When you are applying a full head color treatment and not just a root touch up, cassia can be used to dilute the henna and indigo mix. Diluting the mix will protect your hair from becoming too dark with reapplications.

Evie didn't want to change her color too much but wanted to brighten her natural dishwater blonde hair. She also wanted to strengthen her hair. Evie used Ancient Sunrise Cassia and Henna. She used 90% cassia powder and 10% henna that was dye released and left on the hair for one hour and thirty minutes.

Once she rinsed, Evie was left with bright, shiny hair that has natural red highlights. Her hair was softer and the ends were conditioned, no longer coarse or frizzy! She was so pleased with the natural red highlights that she is thinking of adding more henna on the next application. This henna mix is very similar to the components in the Ancient Sunrise Dark Blonde kit.

Ann was not getting the results she wanted from chemical hair dye and it was damaging her hair. She stopped using any dye for several years. She wanted to grow her hair long and knew using Ancient Sunrise cassia would give her strong healthy shiny hair. She still wanted some color, but she didn't want to use chemical hair dyes. The henna mix was 2/3 cassia and 1/3 henna. She applied after dye releasing her henna hair dye mix. She left this on for four and 1/2 hours before rinsing.

The henna mix used is identical to the components in the Ancient Sunrise Sunshine kit. You can use our Ancient Sunrise henna hair dye kits or create your own mix using the bulk powders found in the Ancient Sunrise store.

For the best results, we suggest going to a local professional when you decide to bleach or lighten your hair. If you use indigo in your mix, bleaching will not take out the color and may leave odd blueish green tones.

Ancient Sunrise henna is free of PPD and chemicals. Please perform a strand test to determine how long you should leave the kit on your hair. You can also use Ancient Sunrise henna over chemically treated hair. The application may have to be done twice to achieve the color results you prefer.
